‘Canary in the Coal Mine?’ Local Woman’s Plight May Foretell Our Future

Editor’s Note: Congress gave local officials the authority to control the deployment of wireless infrastructure in their communities. Now the FCC is trying to take that authority away. The current system is working, but telecoms are impatient with local zoning laws and want unfettered ability to put 5G towers and antennas anywhere they want.

One local woman recently shared her story:

“The fear of 5G has been haunting me since I first heard about it. I am severely affected by wireless radio frequencies (RF). It affects my brain, making it feel like my brain is on fire and feels like it’s being crushed, makes me dizzy and unable to think clearly. It burns my mouth and tongue. It has made my life a living hell as we tried to protect our home from the RF.

“I can’t use: Wi-FI, any computer with lithium batteries, “Smart” anything, microwave ovens, or even one high-powered burner on my electric stove. I can’t use a cell phone. We have a 2008 car that I’m hoping doesn’t break down before I die. I can’t be around newer cars with endless electronics. Even the electric windows in my car bother me slightly — hubby drives a 2003 car without electric windows and I have no problem with it. Having medical scans is a difficult situation, causing a big spike in my blood pressure and dizziness affecting my ability to safely drive home and often lasting three days.

“A retired electrical engineer offered to come to our home with an Acoustimeter (A British made microwave field-strength meter) to check to see where our home was being impacted with the RF. He made my life tolerable with his knowledge and help. He helped me realize that I wasn’t imagining the problem with Wi-Fi and helped me take steps to get rid of the Wi-Fi for the computer. He also went around our property to figure out where the RF was coming from that caused me a problem in the garden. A house across the street had the satellite dish pointed directly at our house. I couldn’t be on that side of the property. We discovered that the windows in the house were exposed to the RF significantly and he suggested using totally aluminum screening on all the windows on that side of the house and around the outside porch.

“The electric company knows full well the effects of the RF from the Smart Meter (SM) deployed in recent years to transmit usage data via radio frequency. In an article about the SM, it was mentioned that people with pacemakers should opt out by including medical documentation – then they would not be charged extra for opting out. The RF from the SM negatively affects the signals from the pacemaker to the heart. But without medical documentation, if you choose to opt out, you would be charged a monthly fee because the meter would have to be manually checked each month. This issue was never publicized that I am aware of. I happened to contact the electric company for more information about the opt out issue and was informed about the pacemaker issue.

“While the electrical engineer was testing our surroundings, he also tested the solar panels across the street. Although the solar panels themselves don’t cause a problem, the power towers are a tremendous source of RF and as soon as we were getting close to the area, I

could instantly feel the effects, it was like walking into a stone wall! I’m very concerned because there are several trailers close to the towers that are being bombarded with rays. After our initial testing with the Acoustimeter, we later tested again to find out how effective the aluminum screening was helping inside our home. It greatly reduced the RF!! At that time, we also tested our natural gas meter and the RF from that meter far exceeded the RF from the SM. We were going to try to use the Faraday Cages around both meters, but I read several articles that mentioned that the electric company might remove them because the Cages interfere with their signals.

“I have done endless research into the sensitivity and damage from RF — big and small issues. It’s a real thing! Since I suffer from RF and chemical sensitivities, I am virtually a hermit because most homes have Wi-Fi and endless modern electric gizmos and chemicals throughout the houses. Even though we do not have Wi-Fi, I still have to limit my time on the computer. I understand that I am probably more severely affected than others, but it is a problem for ALL people, but they are not aware of how they are being affected — such as headaches, fatigue, etc. I had found a health care provider who was treating me for what made me appear to have dementia. As we were conversing casually about my problems with chemicals and electronics, I asked why I was so severely affected. He merely said, “Everyone is affected, they just don’t notice it. You are the canary in the coal mine!” I tried to be an advocate to people close to me, and, although they no longer think I’m crazy, they, nonetheless think, “well, that isn’t happening to me.”

“This is an extremely dangerous country-wide problem. We have more debilitating mental issues, physical issues, cancers, etc. that are prevalent in large numbers. I would hope the medical communities throughout the country would investigate these issues so they can be a beacon of hope to those who depend on them for guidance with regard to their health.

“Help our area stay safe and hopefully the word will spread. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell my story. Good luck with the issue. If 5G comes to our area, my life will definitely be a helpless medical nightmare that could not be physically and mentally tolerated.”

Note from Gordon Allison, Technical Writer: No one knows how many people are affected by this debilitating problem nationwide. It seems very unwise to pursue the 5G build-out without knowing what all the potential problems are. For heaven’s sake, don’t make the same mistake that was made with the Covid shots. Telecom companies should not be given immunity for any problems created by 5G (and higher) build-outs.
