5G Build-Out Poses Threat Yet Dodges Local Control

No one really knows the long term health risks of gear-laden towers next to homes and apartments.

The official notice is known as FCC Docket No. 25-276. Backed by Big Telecom, the FCC intends to allow cell site towers in your neighborhood every 600 to 800 feet. And, in the fine print, local standards like zoning and Home Owner Association rules are null and void.

Neither the building inspector nor the county planning board can do anything about it. The first telecom company would pay a pittance for its building permit; while other telecoms can come along later for a free ride.

In the USA, the ‘heating value’ of RF energy determines our radiation limits. This is dubious criteria. As a result, our limit for RF radiation exposure is the HIGHEST in the world. There are people who have adverse reactions to RF energy, including one person who lives in Pamlico County. Another person lives at Lake Tahoe, and a whole family in the northeast part of the US are affected. Long term effects are unknown.

Russia has studied these debilitating RF reactions in people in two separate studies spaced some four decades apart, and the human effects are the same. Guess what? Russia’s RF exposure limits are one twentieth of those for the US. What can be done to change our limits? File comments on the FCC docket on the FCC’s website. Contact your Congressmen and Senators to voice your concern and displeasure with this rule making. And, send comments to the White House at WH.Gov.
