RESPERS Devonta

On the morning of Tuesday, February 22, 2022, The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 2013 Ford truck had been stolen sometime during the night from a residence in the Maribel community of Pamlico County.  Later in the day Pamlico County deputies received information from a citizen tip that the vehicle had been sighted at a local business.

Deputies located the vehicle in the parking lot of an adjacent business being operated by Devonta Respers, 28 of Bayboro.  Respers was taken into custody without incident and the vehicle was returned to the rightful owner without damage.  Respers was released form North Carolina Department of Corrections on or about February 5 after serving an active sentence for previous larceny of motor vehicle convictions.  Respers was on post release supervision by North Carolina Probation and Parole.

Respers was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and was placed into the Pamlico County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond.  North Carolina Probation and Parole officers also filed a Felony Probation Violation for which Respers was ordered held with No Bond.
