Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office – MEDIA RELEASE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE WANTED FELON

On Friday, June 7, 2024, Pamlico County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported larceny of a boat in the Dawson’s Creek area of Pamlico County. The vessel was reported stolen by the owner and was seen leaving the area, crossing the Neuse River headed toward Adams Creek.

Through tips from citizens the vessel was located abandoned near Harlowe Creek in Carteret County. Pamlico County deputies identified the suspect, John Matthew Nigh 36, of Reelsboro and have obtained warrants for his arrest for Felony Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle and Felony Larceny. The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in locating Nigh.

A $500.00 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Nigh. Anyone having information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office at 252- 745-3101 or your local law enforcement agency. Nigh should be considered dangerous and should not be approached if sighted.
