Fentanyl overdose death leads to three arrests in Pamlico County

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, Pamlico County Sheriff’s deputies and Pamlico County EMS responded to a residence in Grantsboro, NC regarding an unresponsive female.   Megan Hypes Gaylord 33, of Grantsboro was transported to Carolina East Health Systems where she was later pronounced deceased.   The resulting investigation and autopsy determined that Gaylord died as a result of fentanyl toxicity/overdose.  The investigation led to the arrest of 3 individuals related…
