Once voted Pamlico County’s Top Athlete over the past 50 years, Doug Smith is a 1978 graduate of Pamlico High School, played college football for Auburn, and went on star in the NFL as a defensive tackle for the Houston Oilers. In 1997, the Oilers franchise moved to Tennessee and became the Titans.
