North Carolina violinist/fiddler Andrew Finn Magill is a Fulbright Fellow, a South Arts Emerging Traditional Artist, a North Carolina Arts Council Fellow, an All-Ireland Fiddle finalist, and a recording artist with Ropeadope Records. He has been featured on MTV-U, PBS, and multiple times on NPR. His 2016 album, Roots, debuted at number #46 on the folk DJ charts. We are extremely fortunate to have this extraordinary violin virtuoso and friends to appear at The Old Theater in Oriental.
Finn grew up in western NC studying Irish, old-time, and bluegrass playing with dozens of the best fiddlers in the world. He was fascinated by the connections between the fiddling traditions of Ireland and Scotland and their musical cousins of old-time and bluegrass. In 2014, he moved to Rio de Janeiro to study Brazilian choro music where he founded many Brazilian music groups. Finn currently tours with Fogo no Trio featuring original acoustic music with violin, guitar, and Brazilian mandolin.
Tickets may also be available at the Box Office on the day of the performance. Complimentary tickets need to be exchanged for regular tickets at Nautical Wheelers to ensure seating in the event of a sold-out show. For additional information call visit the theater’s website at oldtheater.org.
