Ferry Toll No Fairy Tale

Levy makes its way into State Senate version of pending budget

RALEIGH – Though not yet signed, sealed and delivered, the relevant statute  that governs the state’s Ferry System contains two daunting, never-before-seen sentences:

• The Board of Transportation shall establish tolls on all ferry routes.

• Commuter Pass – The Board of Transportation shall authorize the sale of an annual commuter pass for all tolled ferry routes.
