GRANTSBORO – Isaac Rodriguez wants to carry on the legacy of giving that he experienced several years ago. The generosity of Todd Willis, 34, who died in late October, can best be explained in Isaac’s own words:
Mr. Todd is a special person and he has a lot of love. He is one of the best people that I met 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with cancer. He was very supportive and made my wish of having a boat come true: #wish2fish #isaac’s promise Mr. Todd will always live on in my heart. I want to carry on his legacy of giving by honoring his name with a Toy & Coat Drive this year. Thank you, Isaac.
Isaac’s original painting, which honors Willis, is on display at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. where it will be auctioned next year as part of a large fundraiser. Issac also painted an exact replica for Willis’ wife Heather, and son Colton – presented to them last week at Neuse River Bait & Tackle in Grantsboro.
