BAYBORO – This fire was dispatched around 18:32 hours Monday night, March 17, to the Pamlico County 911 Center. The dispatched departments include- Triangle VFD, Goose Creek Island VFD, Grantsboro-Silverhill VFD, Reelsboro VFD, and Arapahoe VFD.

The first arriving Fire Engine from Triangle VFD was at 18:37 hours and reported a “Working Fire” in a single-family dwelling with all occupants outside and accounted for.

The first units to conduct fire attack inside the house were marked at 18:40 hours, and with the help of all the responding crews the fire was out by 19:00 hours. With all of the firefighters on the scene, Monday nights are the typical meeting and training nights for our volunteer fire departments. Most of them were already at their stations prepping for their weekly meeting/training.

Response time and extinguishment time was spot on for this run. The five departments that responded to this fire collectively put around 35 people on the scene. All the pieces of the puzzle kind of fell into place on this one.
