More than 40 Pamlico County nonprofits representatives attended a complimentary luncheon honoring their commitment to serving local residents. As part of its mission to support nonprofits delivering services to Pamlico County residents, fellow nonprofit Imagine Pamlico hosted “Pamlico Proud: A Celebration of Service” at Grove and Vine in Oriental.

Attendees enjoyed a catered lunch, networking, and remarks from guest speaker Mark Brewington, Pamlico County’s manager, who recognized the attendees’ impact on all residents from Pamlico County.

“We support the efforts of Imagine Pamlico and all of the Pamlico County nonprofits,” Brewington said. “We also recognize the importance of building public-private partnerships in pursuing our vision for the county and its residents.”

Attendees remarked that the nonprofits staff members do not get the opportunity to convene in a setting in which they are not working. Steven West, Executive Pastor of Sound of Salvation Ministries, commented, “We see each other while working events in our communities, serving our clients or even in professional conferences, but we don’t get to take time out to connect socially.” He added, “When we are able to gather in a setting like this, we connect with other organizations with whom we can build relationships that allow us to reach even more people.”

The event was supported by Walmart of Grantsboro, Food Lion of Grantsboro, and Taylor & Sons BBQ and Catering. For more information about Imagine Pamlico, visit http://www.ImaginePamlico.org
