Deputies from the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in locating James Berthold Latif Sr., 56. Latif was last seen in the Beaufort area on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at around 10 AM EST, for an appointment, and did not return home afterward. Latif has been entered into NCIC as a missing person, NIC: M087315042, OCA: 23041411C. No vehicle information is known at this time, additional updates will be provided as information becomes available. Anyone with information about Latif’s whereabouts is asked to contact Det.
