Memorial Service for Famous Ballerina to Feature Video

Danielle P. Tiletnick passed away on April 4 of this year. Her family will host a tribute to the performer on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 5pm. The service is open to the public at St. Peter the Fisherman Church, White Farm Road in Oriental.

Tiletnick was the only young dancer who received a full scholarship from Robert Denvers who was the NY Ballet Master for Barishnikov, Nureyev, and Markarov. Barishnikov often chose her in class to partner with him and appeared with him in Mid Summer’s Night’s Dream.

She became the Principle dancer of the Karole Armitage Ballet Company, an avant guard ballet company, where many famous classical dancers chose to dance. She appeared in many of the Armitage ballets in NYC and BAM and toured all thru Europe and South America.

She was featured in several magazines including Modern Bride and regularly reviewed favorably in the New York Times. She was the subject of the book “I AM A DANCER” and appeared in Woody Allen’s movie, “STAR DUST MEMORIES” and with Tim Curry in the movie, “TIMES SQUARE.”

Video clips from her performances will be shown. Please RSVP to Mary at (646) 509-1105.
