Drug investigation leads to multiple arrests in Pamlico County

On Friday, August 30, 2024, deputies of the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office executed pre-dawn search warrants at three locations in Pamlico County related to a yearlong investigation pertaining to the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics in Pamlico County. Deputies executed search warrants at the residence of Gloria Anita Midgette, 56 of Grantsboro, NC, a separate residence owned by Midgette inhabited by Tonya Styron Jones, 53 of Alliance, and a search warrant at a business rented by Midgette that was being operated as a bar and social club in the Vandemere community of Pamlico County.

During the investigation deputies conducted multiple controlled purchases of powder and crack cocaine from Midgette and other co-conspirators working for and with Midgette to distribute cocaine throughout Pamlico County.

As a result of the search investigators were able to seize approximately 45 grams of crack cocaine and powder cocaine.

Midgette was arrested and charged with:

1 count of Continuing Criminal Enterprise
13 counts of Possession With the intent to sell/deliver cocaine
13 counts of Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale of Controlled Substances
8 counts of Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Cocaine
Drug Paraphernalia Not for Marijuana
Unauthorized Possession of Spirituous Liquor
Possess Alcohol for Sale Without a Permit
