Award-Winning Young Authors

HAVELOCK – Students from Roger Bell New Tech Academy are being celebrated for their creativity and powerful storytelling after earning top honors in the 2025-26 Young Author “Educate, Advocate, and Empower” writing contest, hosted by the Twin Rivers Reading Council.

The annual contest invites young writers to explore meaningful topics through the written word, encouraging them to inform, inspire, and stand up for causes that matter. This year’s winners impressed judges with their originality, depth of thought, and ability to connect with readers on important social and personal issues.

The Twin Rivers Reading Council, an award-winning affiliate of the North Carolina Reading Association, proudly represents educators and students throughout Craven and Pamlico Counties.
