Former addict’s ‘beyond powerful’ presentation for hundreds of Eighth Graders meant to save lives
NEW BERN – Titled ‘Truth About Opioids,’ the well-planned, massive undertaking earned a big A+ for all involved. During an emotional and often graphic 60 minutes, Hoffman recounted his experimentation, abuse, and addiction, including the premeditated and forced entry of a house where he robbed the occupant at gunpoint. Now he tours the country, and expects to complete more than 250 personal appearances this year. Hoffman directs the Freewheel Project, which mentors at-risk youngsters thru action sports.
