PAMLICO COUNTY – My name is Nate Nobel, and this letter serves as my official announcement that I will be running for Sheriff of Pamlico County for the 2022 election. My wife, Hannah, and I moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania because we fell in love with Pamlico County, and we decided that this was the place to start our family. Pamlico County is our daughter’s first home and the place where she will grow up. It is my goal to make this county the safest place it can be for both my family and yours. The training and experience I accumulated as a Law Enforcement Officer have given me the knowledge and drive to do so.
I started my career in law enforcement as a sworn Pennsylvania State Constable in 2016, after 2 years’ time I moved to North Carolina and began at the city of Havelock Police Department where I stayed until my swearing in as a Deputy for Jones County. My diverse experience as a sworn law enforcement officer has helped me to accumulate several thousand hours of training and experience in topics relating to criminal investigations, proactive and community policing, traffic, and D.W.I. Enforcement. In addition to my background in Law Enforcement, I have worked with private organizations as a consultant and software developer to assist in the creation of more real to life training simulations and scenarios for first responders, law enforcement and the military to better their skill-sets and prepare them for the duties they have chosen.
As Sheriff I promise that I will work tirelessly to provide a Sheriff’s Office that will not only listen but will actively respond to the needs of the community. I will increase the presence and availability of deputies. I will focus on bringing the Sheriff’s office into this era of policing by increasing trainings on community policing, de-escalation, and mental health awareness. I will work to treat every member of this great county as an extension of my own family, and to be the Sheriff that you all deserve. I hope that you will find these goals for our county align with yours and that you support me as your candidate for Sheriff in the upcoming election.
