Candy Bohmert, Chair of Pamlico Commission, released the following statement:
The appointment of Bill Fentress to Financial Director/Assistant County Manager was recognition of the role he already has and it gives the Manager the ability to add assignments to him. There are new projects coming, like the Kershaw Water Plant, that will need a manager’s attention, among other things.
The County Manager has also let us know that his projected retirement date is the end of January 2025, and Mr. Fentress will help us through that transition. Because of his involvement in Finance side of things, his help will be a huge blessing to the County as well as the Board. We are very busy these days with old business as well as new projects and this addition to our staff is a welcome relief.
