Man arrested after Pamlico County drug raid (updated)

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, deputies of the Pamlico County Sheriffs Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Roger Benajmin Voliva 47, at his Upper Neck Road residence in the Mesic community of Pamlico County. The warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation related to the sale and distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Pamlico County area.

As a result of the search investigators were able to locate and seize approximately 2.8 pounds of Methamphetamine and 1.2 pounds or over 10,000 dosages of Fentanyl. Investigators also seized a quantity of US Currency, numerous items of drug paraphernalia related to the sale and packaging of controlled substances.

  • Voliva was arrested and charged with the following crimes related to the search. Trafficking by Possession Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking by Possession Heroin/Fentanyl
  • Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping/Selling Controlled Substances Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Voliva was arrested and confined to the Pamlico County Detention Center and held under a $2,000,000.00 secured bond. This is currently the largest seizure of Fentanyl in Pamlico County history. Fentanyl and Methamphetamine are being trafficked into Pamlico County resulting in an alarming number of overdoses with some leading to the deaths of our neighbors, friends, and family members. The Pamlico County Sheriffs Office is committed to identifying and arresting all individuals that are involved in sale and distribution of illegal controlled substances.
