Beloved building inspector rides off into county sunset!

BAYBORO – Skip Lee, the Pamlico County Building Inspector for almost 30 years, received an impromptu going-away party Monday afternoon. Friends and co-workers gathered on the courthouse steps for a photo opp. Lee, seen in the foreground with his successor Ray Bennett, had a well-earned reputation for enforcing sometimes complex regulations with a benevolence, which was much appreciated among those who work in the area’s building trades.
