WASHINGTON, D.C. – News reports have been scant, but for the record let’s note that U.S. President Donald Trump is making good on a promise from the 2016 campaign.

Presidential earnings are paid quarterly, and thus far this year, each of two installments from the President’s $400,000 annual salary has been donated to a worthy cause.

First quarter, pre-tax earnings – from Inauguration Day through March 31 – came to $78,333, which the President donated to the National Park Service in early April.

And, in a late July press briefiing, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders presented a check for the President’s second quarter earnings in the amount of $100,000 to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
DeVos said the funding would go toward hosting a camp for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students at the Department of Education.
