Three arrested in Newport Robbery

On 01/24/2020, Carteret County Deputies began a robbery investigation following a report from a 38-year-old victim alleged to have been robbed at gunpoint in his vehicle on Coldfelter St in Newport.

Detective Lt. Derek Moore who investigated the case said the victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone. The investigation resulted in criminal charges against three suspects. The handgun used during the commission of the robbery was also recovered.

Lowery, Alexa

On 01/31/2020, Alexa Rae Lowery, 18, of Eagle Road, Newport, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and is being held in the Carteret County jail under a $15,000.00 bond.

Berry, Marquis

On 02/02/2020, Marquis Raquan Berry, 23, of Washington Street, New Bern was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault & Battery, and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $60,000.00 bond.

Richardson, Saraya

On 02/02/2020, Saraya Richardson, 19, of Wilmington Street, New Bern was arrested and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault by Pointing a Gun, and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon. She is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $60,000.00 bond.
