EastCare Helicopters depend on Metro Aviation
WASHINGTON, NC – Metro Aviation christened its new hangar space at Washington-Warren Airport (KOCW) on Thursday morning, October 12. Based in Shreveport, Louisiana, Metro Aviation was incorporated in 1982 as a helicopter charter, flight training and maintenance operation. The company now has air medical transport operations throughout the United States.
Metro Aviation provides heavy maintenance on seven EastCare helicopters. Larger hangar space will allow the firm to expand operations and hire additional mechanics to work on the helicopters at KOCW.
“The Washington-Warren Airport staff and Authority have worked for several years to make the Airport, not only a ‘show window’ to the City of Washington and Beaufort County, but a hub of economic development and jobs.
“Recent investments made by the General Assembly in our Airport demonstrate their confidence and support of our efforts, as we work with NCDOT-Aviation, to be the tip of the spear in Advanced Air Mobility efforts in North Carolina. These strides we’ve made would not be possible without the efforts of our legislative Representative, Keith Kidwell,” said Airport Manager Earl Malpass.
