NC GENERAL ASSEMBLY – Our state has a higher abortion limit (20 weeks) than all of our neighbors except Virginia! That makes North Carolina the ‘go-to state’ for abortions in the Southeast. In fact, after the Dobbs v. Jackson decision (U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade), there was a 37 percent increase in abortions in NC between April and August of 2022.
There’s even a billboard on a stretch of I-77 in South Carolina, which proclaims “Abortion is Legal in North Carolina.” Even before the 2022 Dobbs decision, there were 31,850 abortions during 2020 in NC alone.
Legislators have discussed reducing the 20-week limit to 6 or 12 weeks during this legislative session; however, only one PRO LIFE bill has been submitted, which is HB 533 the “Human Life Protection Act of 2023” We must provide strong support for this bill, which will save ALL pre-born lives.
During this rally/meeting, which begins at 9:30 am on Tuesday, April 25, we will attempt to speak with legislators about supporting pro-life legislation.
