Sheriff Chris Davis released the following statement:

“At the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office, we strive to make a difference in our community daily. Not only do we spend countless hours enforcing criminal violations of the law, we also spend time within our communities mentoring our youth in hopes we can teach them right from wrong, collaborating with our churches and religious groups to bring those that are lost from darkness to light, and meeting with family members to discuss ways to get their loved one the help he/she deserves. It is all about making a positive difference in our community, but the only way to do that is to demonstrate the difference we wish to see. There are a lot of agencies that are talking about the heroin epidemic, but we are doing something about it. Today, we announce another successful drug round-up in Pamlico County. I’d like to thank the citizens of this county for their support, the great working relationship we have with our District Attorney Scott Thomas and staff, and the support of our commissioners for supporting the efforts of the sheriff’s office. The best is yet to come.”

District Attorney Scott Thomas also released a statement:

“Operation Demonstrated Difference represents the continuing cooperation between Sheriff Chris Davis and my office to fight illegal drug activity in Pamlico County. This is another in a series of undercover drug operations conducted over the past few years. Sheriff Davis and I, along with our staffs, are committed to this ongoing battle that requires our time, attention and focus. We believe a comprehensive approach to the drug problem includes education, prevention, treatment and tough enforcement. We have been successful in the past in getting convictions and long prison sentences for drug dealers in Pamlico County. We will focus on seeking justice in these case as they move through our court system.”
