Pamlico Christian Academy names new leader
GRANTSBORO — The Board of Directors of Pamlico Christian Academy, a faith-based community school that serves students from Preschool through 12th grade, recently announced that Jennifer Sanderson Alcock has been named their new Head of School.
Mrs. Alcock brings years of experience in public relations, communications, leadership training and development, fundraising, and Christian counseling that will greatly benefit Pamlico Christian Academy students, families, staff and the surrounding community. Her passion and enthusiasm for seeing students and staff reach their full, God-given potential proves that she is a natural fit for the school’s leadership team. Mrs. Alcock will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school, providing oversight and guidance to all school personnel as well as representing the school in the community at large.
As natives of Pamlico County, Mrs. Alcock and her husband Frankie, as well as their extended families, have a deep love and respect for the people of Eastern North Carolina. According to Board Chairman Tim Mathews, “Mrs. Alcock has a firm vision and excellent plan for positioning Pamlico Christian Academy for continued growth and success for years to come. We are thrilled that she has joined our leadership team, effective immediately.” Mrs. Alcock completed her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University and holds two masters degrees from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. In addition to leading the school, she will be teaching Writing Skills classes to students in seventh through tenth grades starting this fall.
Pamlico Christian Academy has a solid reputation for offering an excellent academic program in a nurturing and close-knit environment that fosters intellectual and spiritual development based on Christ-centered principles. In addition to its regular academic curriculum in Pre-Kindergarten through tenth grade, the school is excited to offer the Career and College Promise Program through Pamlico Community College which allows students to earn college credits while in 11th and 12th grades at no additional cost to families. Mrs. Alcock will be working closely with Mr. Dale Belvin, the Assistant Head of School, whose duties include Athletics Director and Head of Curriculum Development and Biblical Studies. One of Mr. Belvin’s first goals is to expand the athletics offerings at the school.
