GRANTSBORO – The Pamlico County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hire of a leader who is familiar with Pamlico County, the region and the Pamlico Chamber of Commerce. Tina Foreman Beacham began her first day as Interim Executive Director on Jan. 21. Beacham takes over the position left vacant when the previous Director, Joyce Swimm took a new position at Pamlico Christian Academy. Beacham grew up on Goose Creek Island in Pamlico County and is a 1988 graduate of Pamlico County High School.

“I believe in the Pamlico County spirit. Promoting our county to visitors and building connections with businesses in our communities is key to our economic success,” said Beacham. “I have strong roots in this County and love being here. We have the freshest seafood, the most beautiful waters for sailing, hidden gems along our shores for the best fishing and hunting, and an abundance of agricultural resources; why not encourage folks to visit, play, work and stay here. With a positive insight, its going to be awesome to assist Pamlico County to rise-up.
The potential here is just endless.”

Beacham has many years of operations and administration management with an emphasis in marketing. She has worked as Marketing Coordinator for the Morehead City based Budget Blinds franchise, which recently was ranked the #5 franchise in the nation, and as a Regional Manager for Robert High Properties and Development in Wilmington. She also worked with the Roanoke Island Commission in Manteo and handled membership for the commission’s non-profit.

Beacham has a history of volunteerism throughout Eastern NC, including the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, Saltwater Connections, NC Fisheries Association and Wanchese Community Development. The Chamber has a number of important initiatives underway that support Members, our communities, help improve our local economy, as well as, our civic and social structures.

A few of these include the annual production of our Visitor’s Guide that is distributed throughout the State and is available as a free digital link. Planning is underway for a
special business and tourism event to be held in cooperation with Pamlico County Economic Development, Pamlico Community College and the Small Business and Career Center. Beacham expects to coordinate a number of Chamber networking opportunities and marketing programs that are key to helping our Chamber members and communities to prosper.

Chamber President, Paul Slobodian, commented: “We see continued strength in our local business economy. Tina has already demonstrated as a Chamber volunteer, an impressive marketing skill set and commitment to strengthening our vibrant community of business and non-profit members.”
