New pastor at Oriental First Baptist Church

Oriental First Baptist Church formally welcomed our new pastor, Rev. Mark Rogers, during our 11 am morning worship service on May 5. There was a social hour following the service.

Rev. Rogers grew up on a farm in the Clinton, North Carolina area. He obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from NC State and later obtained a Master of Divinity with Emphasis in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity College of the Bible & Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana. He is a Mechanical Engineer at Fleet Readiness Center, Cherry Point MCAS and has served as pastor at several churches in eastern North Carolina.

Rev. Rogers and his wife, Monica, homeschool their youngest son, John Mark, and are active in the Pamlico County Homeschool Association. They have three older children and five grandchildren and live outside New Bern. They look forward to serving in ministry at Oriental First Baptist and in the Oriental community.
