Matthew 25:35 For I was hungered, and ye gave me meal; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in.
BAYBORO – For the second consecutive year, the congregations of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Merritt, and St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Maribel joined forces Saturday morning to distribute frozen turkeys to deserving folks who showed up shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Pamlico Medical Center. According to Armandez L. Crawford, who pastors both churches, the event is a rewarding experience for all concerned. “We want to thank Walmart of Grantsboro for all their help in supplying 200 turkeys,” said Crawford, “and special thanks to Marvin Murray, who contributed 100 pounds of collards.”
On Sunday, the Hi-Lites Cheerleaders of Pamlico County, took time out to show their love for two area families. “It was a vision that was set in our heart to find two families in the county to donate a basket of love for Thanksgiving,” said. Jackie Johnson, coach and owner of Hi-Lites Cheerleaders instruction program.
Ms. Nancy Grose of Grantsboro (top pic) and Ms. Jeanie Credle of Bayboro each received a turkey and all the trimmings for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. There were tears of joy, smiles, and hugs during the giving of the Thanksgiving basket. The recipients expressed their gratitude, and the young cheerleaders certainly learned the true meaning of love and giving back during the Holidays.
