Citizen complaints prompt drug bust

Cocaine, large cash stash discovered

BAYBORO — On August 2, 2019, The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) conducted a search warrant at 6405 NC Highway 304, Bayboro NC after receiving numerous drug complaints from concerned citizens.

During the execution of the search warrant, Deputies seized a quantity of cocaine, a firearm and a large sum of U.S. Currency. As a result of the incident, 4 suspects were arrested and placed in the Pamlico County Detention Facility under secured bonds.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected.

Charges: Possession of Altered Gun Serial Number

Possession of Firearm by Felon

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Octavia Maria Gibbs, 42, of 6405 NC Highway 304, Bayboro, NC

Charges: Possession of Altered Gun Serial Number

Possession of Firearm by Felon

Bond: $20,000.00 secured


Reginald Antonie Gilliam, 55, of 1436 Pamlico Road, Oriental, NC

Charges: Felony Possession of Cocaine

Bond: $4,000.00 secured


Teresa Lynn Rawls, 52, 407 South Street, Bayboro, NC

Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Bond: $500.00 secured
