On 09/22/2022 Carteret County Sheriff’s Deputies charged Jason Allen Porter, 42, of Newport with one open count of murder. Porter is currently serving an active prison sentence for probation violations in the New Hanover Department of Corrections and was transported to Carteret County for his first appearance where he was placed on no bond. Pamlico County man arrested on drug/gun charges

  On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Investigators of the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Timothy Smith in the Grantsboro community of Pamlico County.  Smith was the subject of an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics.   During the search of the residence investigators seized approximately 13 grams of cocaine, digital scales, US Currency, and a handgun.  Smith, 39, is currently on probation for previous drug crimes and was arrested and charged with the following crimes: PWIMSD Sch II C/S (Cocaine) Possession Drug Para…

Two arrested in Vandemere with outstanding warrants

On Friday, September 2, 2022, Pamlico County deputies arrested Brandon Anthony Peltier, 34, of Vandemere on an outstanding warrant for Assault on a female. At the time of his arrest Peltier was found in possession of a handgun and a quantity of cocaine. Peltier was arrested on August 16 after deputies served a search warrant related to a narcotics investigation. Peltier was arrested and placed into the Pamlico County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secured bond for that case.
