NEW BERN – The governing board of the Eastern Carolina Council of Governments (ECC) received an independent ‘warts and all’ critique of its operations on Thursday, Jan. 13 – and the findings are not pretty.

Volkswagen COUGHS UP more money for state
RALEIGH –The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality has submitted its plan for Phase 2 of a national settlement with the automaker. Former Pamlico Co. firefighter accused of using department’s stolen gas card
On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Goose Creek Island Volunteer Fire Department reported to the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office that the department issued fuel purchasing card had been used multiple times to purchase fuel by an unauthorized person. It was determined through the investigation that Chance Matthew Goldberg, 25, of Oriental and former member of the department was responsible for the theft and use of the card.
