Eastern Carolina Council of Governments

ECC on the ropes

But not ready yet to throw in the towel NEW BERN – The governing board of the Eastern Carolina Council of Governments (ECC) received an independent ‘warts and all’ critique of its operations on Thursday, Jan. 13 – and the findings are not pretty.  To its credit, the beleaguered organization, which offers services to nine contiguous counties in eastern North Carolina, knows problems exist. In July of 2021, ECC officials were forced to fire the executive director, followed two days later by the abrupt, unannounced resignation of its contracted law firm. And, membership in ECC – open to 51 gover…

AT HOME TEST KIT COMES WITH RISKS

By Jon Rappoport | www.nomorefakenews.com Recently, on my website, I’ve been writing fiction, satire, parody, to expose the insanity of the pandemic scam. This article is not that. This article is FACT! Buckle up. Since the beginning of the so-called pandemic, I’ve been attacking the value of the PCR diagnostic test from many angles. The primary angle, as my readers know, is: SARS-CoV-2 was never isolated, never proved to exist. However, I’ve also ventured into the ‘bubble world’ where a few billion people blindly accept the existence of the virus – and I’ve shown that even within that worl…

U.S. must defend Taiwan against Communists

By Dexter Liu Editor’s note: Mr. Liu is a naturalized American citizen of Chinese descent, whose parents escaped China in 1949 as the Communists took control. His father was prominent in the Nationalist Chinese Navy, and was actively involved in the Nationalists’ retreat to Taiwan where the free and democratic government remains today. Mr. Liu is a regular contributor to this newspaper and now lives in Oriental. While Americans relaxed after enjoying leftovers from Thanksgiving to cheer for their favorite football teams, our friends on the island state of Taiwan were forced to scramble j…

Soft Coup Taking Place Right In Front Of Us

By Mary Griswold | www.rightwinggranny.com A friend, who is much smarter than I, recently posted this on Facebook: It’s easy to ignore major parts of a huge government like ours because we never deal with certain sections. Of course we deal indirectly with the Food and Drug Administration every time we eat some food, but we don’t really pay them any attention. I bet 98 percent of Americans have no idea what position Jelena McWilliams holds, yet her Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) controls everything that happens at your bank. Through regulations passed to improve “faith” in ou…

Pair say they would risk jail to oppose any vaxx mandate!

BAYBORO – Almost the 21st Century equivalent of Patrick Henry’s famous 1775 vow to “Give me liberty, or give me death,” Pamlico County Commissioners Candy Bohmert and Missy Baskervill drew an unmistakable line in the sand Monday night during debate over whether elected officials should comply with any federal edict to mandate vaccines for 170 county government employees. Serious, heartfelt pledges from the two Republican women came quickly when Commission Chairman Doug Brinson offered a lighthearted quip that “we don’t want any of us to go to jail over this.” “I will,” replied a no-nonse…
