Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Media Release

On Thursday, December 16, 2021, Investigators from the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported armed robbery at 11944 NC Highway 55, The Highway 55 Tobacco and Vape Shop in Grantsboro. It was reported that an unknown male busted the drive-thru window with a crowbar and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. As a result of the investigation Bobby Barber, 42 of New Bern and Katrina Mahmud, 41, also of New Bern were arrested and charged with the crime. Newport man arrested on Child Porn charges

On 01/26/2022 Detectives with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce arrested Bradley Dale Morgan, 45, of Newport on charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors. Morgan was charged as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. Detectives from the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Taskforce, which includes Pine Knoll Shores Police conducted the investigation. Beaufort man faces drug charges

Following a lengthy investigation Falanta Terrell Simmons, 34, of 672 Merrimon Road, Beaufort, was arrested and charged with six counts of level three trafficking in heroin. Detectives charged Simmons following a controlled purchase of nearly 31 grams of suspected heroin and fentanyl. Simmons was taken into custody on outstanding warrants during a traffic stop on 01/24/2022 and transported to the Carteret County Jail where he is being held on a 2.5-million-dollar bond.
