BAYBORO – District Attorney Scott Thomas announced that, in Pamlico County Superior Court this week, ARTHUR BARNARD, 50, of Alliance, was convicted upon a guilty plea to charges arising out of his status as a registered sex offender, and he was sentenced to a prison term of 34 to 60 months. Superior Court Judge Will Bland presided, and the cases were prosecuted in court by Assistant District Attorney Christy Hawkins. GRANTSBORO – The Pamlico County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hire of a leader who is familiar with Pamlico County, the region and the Pamlico Chamber of Commerce. Tina Foreman Beacham began her first day as Interim Executive Director on Jan. 21. Beacham takes over the position left vacant when the previous Director, Joyce Swimm took a new position at Pamlico Christian Academy.
