Life jackets disappear from Cedar Point Wildlife Access Ramp

CEDAR POINT — The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information concerning the disappearance of 35 life jackets from the Cedar Point Wildlife Access Ramp. The life jackets were made available for the public to use free by the Swansboro Sea Scouts and were purchased with grant funding from the Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner program. The loaner program relies on the honor system with the goal to increase the use of life jackets and to educate the public on the importance of wearing a life jacket. Snowden kids excel after attending Fossil Museum’s IMAGINE-NC camp

AURORA – The photo is from a July 20 Community Celebration in recognition of the 8th grade at S.W. Snowden achieving the highest End of Grade Score in Beaufort County on their Science Exam. The Aurora Fossil Museum’s IMAGINE-NC Project was a contributing factor to the test scores as it helped to increase student interest, curiosity, and confidence in science. Citizen complaints prompt drug bust

Cocaine, large cash stash discovered BAYBORO — On August 2, 2019, The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) conducted a search warrant at 6405 NC Highway 304, Bayboro NC after receiving numerous drug complaints from concerned citizens. During the execution of the search warrant, Deputies seized a quantity of cocaine, a firearm and a large sum of U.S. Currency.
