News Analysis GREENVILLE –  Pamlico County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution – first drafted by Pitt County where Vidant Medical Center is a huge employer – that opposes a possible cut to Vidant’s state-paid funding. SMUGGLING DRUGS INTO JAIL LEADS TO 32 MONTHS IN PRISON

NEW BERN – District Attorney Scott Thomas announced that, in Craven County Superior Court today, STUART AUSTIN GAIDOSH, 42, of New Bern, pled guilty to charges arising out of his attempt to smuggle drugs into the Craven County Detention Center, and was sentenced to a prison term totaling 32 to 58 months. Superior Court Judge Imelda Pate presided over this term of court, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Robert McAfee.
