New Bern, North Carolina – District Attorney Scott Thomas issued the following statement regarding a deputy sheriff officer-involved shooting incident: The Craven County Sheriff’s Office notified me just before midnight, June 7, 2018, that one of their deputies was in an officer-involved shooting. Affidavit in craft brewers’ lawsuit reveals nasty underbelly of state’s ‘big beer’ industry

Carolina Journal News Service Dustin Canestorp RALEIGH — A former craft brewer, Dustin Canestorp — who has ties to Craven and Jones counties — recently described dismal business dealings with a big Greensboro-based beer distributor, Freedom Beverage Co. The statements came as part of Canestorp’s affidavit in a lawsuit filed by three craft brewers. Canestorp relinquished his brewers’ license three years ago.
