Former Stella VFD treasurer charged with embezzlement

On 01/16/2018, Carteret County deputies arrested Linda Gibson, 72, of Wetherington Landing Road in Stella for embezzling money from the Stella Volunteer Fire Department. Detectives say Gibson was treasurer for the fire department for the past twenty years and is being charged with three counts of embezzlement from April of 2014 through September of 2016.
